Overview of the project

The project is to build a low cost solar energy demonstration system for middle and high school students. The complete system should be able to display voltage and current throughout its various blocks. The following will be the deliverable our group would be demonstrating to the high school students.

1. Connect the panels in series and parallel and show its affects on both the AC and DC loads.


2. Have the batteries connected in Series and Parallel and show its affects on the loads.


3. Demonstrate how the charge of the battery is controlled by the charge controller.


4. How the AC loads are varied (the mechanism) using a micro controller.


5. How the complete PV system can be controlled and simulated using lab view.
